OCIA – Order of Christian Initiation
OCIA is a journey of conversion for adults, and children who are at least age 8, wanting to become Catholic. OCIA begins in September and includes prayer and reflection, study of the Catholic faith and way of life, and special rites and rituals throughout the year, culminating in the reception of the Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil Mass or other appropriate Mass. Adjustments in this schedule are made for children, based on parent choice for their child and the amount of catechesis the child has already received. OCIA is supported by the Religious Education Office. There is no charge for OCIA.
