2009 St. James Parish Pastoral Council Nominees

Natalie Anderson

I was born and raised in Lancaster County. I was baptized and confirmed in St. Mary's parish, and attended Lancaster Catholic High School. I lived in Atlanta, GA for six years before returning to Lancaster in 1995, and have enjoyed two fulfilling careers - one as a financial consultant and administrator and one as a Lititz retail store owner. Currently, I work part-time at the North Museum of Natural History and Science.

Deciding to devote my life to the Lord, I joined St. James in 2006, and am currently the Director of the Alpha Program, which I credit with helping to transform the spiritual lives of my family and myself. I have four children Tiodora (17), Harry (11), Lucy (9), and Mary (5), and live in Lititz. I feel very blessed to have been so lovingly welcomed into the St. James family and look forward to serving through further involvement!

David Barber

Born and raised in Northern Virginia and graduating from Virginia Tech, my wife, Monica and I moved to Pennsylvania in 1993 and Lititz in 1994. I am an Electrical Engineer working for FirstEnergy in Reading, PA. In 2002, I entered the RCIA program here at St. James. And converted to Catholicism at the Easter Vigil in 2003.

My son Tiernan (6 years old) is in Kindergarten this year and my daughter Maura (4 years old) is in preschool. As a family, we enjoy doing 10km volksmarches throughout the country, playing at the neighborhood parks, and reading books before bed. Those who know me know that I enjoy a good pun (and many bad ones as well).

I view a successful Parish as one that is warm and welcoming to visitors, and accepting of the fact that religion is very personal and that each and every one of us has their own unique point of view.

George Boldizar

My wife, Karen, and I live in Lititz. We have two college-age daughters, Meredith and Marissa. We have been members of St. James since 1983. I have been an usher at the Saturday evening Mass for over 10 years. For the past 21 years I have been the Controller for Bareville Design in Leola.

Kathleen DeAngelis

My husband, Douglas, and I have been members of St. James for 9 years. Four years ago we moved from Lititz to south of Lancaster City and are still actively involved here at St. James. I serve as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and bring Holy Communion to the homebound. I also volunteer with the Religious Education office for both the youth and adult programs. Douglas is a lector and an active member of the Knights of Columbus. Our St. James 'Family' is very important to us. I want to thank you for nominating me and if I am elected I will work to the best of my ability with the Parish Pastoral Council.

Brent Eshleman

I have lived in Lititz and have been a member of St. James for 11 years. I've been married to my beautiful wife Angela for 14 years and have 2 great boys, Kevin and Gavin. I am an avid race fan and a fan of Philadelphia sports.
I look forward to the opportunity of serving St. James on the Parish Pastoral Council.

Ed Everett

My wife, Marian and I have been members of the St. James parish since relocating to Lititz in May of 2000. We both feel very much at home at this parish and we consider ourselves blessed. We have two children and five grandchildren which are the center of our lives along with our faith. Our son is a neonatologist with Geisinger Medical Center in our hometown of Danville, Pa and our daughter is an Oncology RN at Lankenau Hospital in the Philadelphia area.

I’ve recently retired after holding various management positions over thirty four years with Wyeth Pharmaceutical and Glaxo Smith Kline Biologicals. I hold degrees with Bloomsburg University in Business Administration and Accounting. I’m a very dedicated and goal driven person and hope these qualities can benefit the council if I’m given the opportunity.

Tiffny Gainer

In 2000, I went through the RCIA program here at St. James and have been a member since. I currently reside in Lititz with my husband Bill, our 10 year old son Matthew and 5 year old twins Emma and Jack. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going to the mountains, volunteering with various organizations such as Crispus Attucks, and the St. James Alpha program.

I have found my experiences here at St. James to be spiritually fulfilling and look forward to helping the parish in any way that I can.

Stephen Iovino

I have been a member of Saint James Parish for over seventeen years. I live in Lititz with my wife, Judy. We have four sons: Matthew, Mark, Brian, and Darren. We also have two daughters-in-law, Mary and Danielle. Judy and I are the proud grandparents of a granddaughter, Marin Katherine.

I am a retired educator and served as the Principal of Warwick High School from 1983-1990, Superintendent of the Warwick School District from 1998-2006, and the interim Superintendent for the School District of Lancaster for the 2008-09 school year. I currently work for the Pennsylvania Department of Education as an educational consultant.

My community involvement includes serving as the Board President of the United Support Group, Moderator for the Heart of Lancaster Hospital Board, and Education Chairperson for The Coalition for Smart Growth.

Colette Meyer

I'm originally from Peoria, Illinois - still a fan of the Cubs and Da Bears! I attended Western Illinois University where I received my teacher's certification. We became members of St. James parish in 1976. I teach 1st grade religion classes on Sunday mornings. I enjoy Bibly study and occasionally working in the kitchen for bingo.

I taught for several years at St. Anne's. I taught one day each at OMPH, Sacred Heart, and St. Leo's teaching gym class. After teaching, I sold real estate during the '80s and '90s.

I like to play golf, sing in church and be involved with my 6 children and 16 grandchildren.

Vanessa Sembrat

My husband John and I moved from Maryland and we have been members of St. James Catholic Church for 10 years. We have 3 wonderful children: Nathan (10), Alyssa (8), who attend Our Mother of Perpetual Help School, and David (3).

I am a graduate of the Catholic University of America and received my Master’s from The University of Maryland at Baltimore. I am a Physical Therapist and work part time at Lancaster General Hospital.

I serve as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion at St. James and I visit several of our homebound members weekly. I have also recently taken over the blood donor program at St. James. I would be honored to serve my church community and will do my best to represent you faithfully as a Parish Council member if elected.

Molly White

My husband Joe and I have 4 daughters, Faith (16), Fiona (11), Deirdre (9), and Nora (3). We have lived in Lititz and St. James parish going on 2 years.

Before moving to Lititz, we lived in Philadelphia and were members of Presentation BVM parish in Cheltenham, PA for 15 years. Throughout those years I was very active in my parish serving on parish council, the Home and School Board, CYO board, and as an art teacher in the school. Although my number one job is being a mother to my 4 girls, my other job is running a small business as a wedding and event floral designer.

Since moving to Lititz, we have experienced such a warm welcome from everyone at Saint James that it was easy to feel at home here and we feel truly blessed to be members of such a great parish. Currently at St. James I am active with the Youth Group and serve on the Core Team. I also volunteer as a substitute for Religious Education and am looking forward to helping again this year with Vacation Bible School.

I have always believed that you should give back to your parish, not only financially, but with your time and talents that God has given you. Serving on the Parish Pastoral Council is a small way that I can give back to God.

Jeanie Zentz

My husband, Gary, and I live on Owl Hill Rd. in Lititz. I have been attending St. James for 5 years, joining the church after participating in RCIA. I still assist with RCIA, having been a sponsor for 2 years, and am currently an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion.

I am Vice President of TeamAg, Inc., an Agricultural Engineering firm located in Ephrata. I am also an artist, and enjoy boating and running.
